Shannon Flattery - Artistic DirectorOriginally from Toronto Canada , Shannon has worked for almost three decades creating interactive installations for a broad range of audiences with such organizations as Mobius, The Invisible Cities Group, and Friction Arts of Birmingham England. She founded Touchable Stories Inc. in 2001. Flattery lectures internationally on the artist's role for social change, co-directs The Bobby Mendes Peace Legacy, an international anti-violence program now in its 10th year and advocates for permanent and affordable housing to stabilize low income communities on a local and national level. She received her BFA from the Museum School of Fine Arts/Tufts University and has received numerous awards, grants, and residencies for the Touchable Stories series including The National Endowment for the Arts, UC Berkeley's 2006-7 Artist-in-Residence at The Art Research Center, and was one of the first recipients for The Boston Foundation's Art & Audience Initiative. For fall 2009 she is the John Nicolas Brown Fellow at Brown University in Providence RI.
